August 22, 23 & 24th,
2008 - Boy Scout Wildlife Weekend at Hershey Park
We only had one family
go the Hershey Park this summer but they had a great time! Check out the pictures here. Plan ahead and join us next
year to join in the fun.
Friday, September 26th, 2008 -
September Pack Night
Our first pack night of
the new scouting year was a great success! The theme
was "New Buddies". All the scouts got to meet their new friends for
the year.
Friday, January 23rd, 2009
- January Pack Night
January was MOVIE NIGHT!
Everyone came to pack night in pajamas and brought blankets and pillows to see IGOR. Fun was had by all.
Sunday, February 8th, 2009
- Monster Truck Show
Everybody enjoyed the show this
year even though Grave Digger dropped out early due to mechanical problems.
Friday, February 20th, 2009
- Cosmic Bowling
Cosmic Bowling was a big hit at
Coram Country Lanes. Everybody had fun bowling in the dark to some great music
videos.
Friday, February 27th, 2009
- Pinewood Derby
This year's Pinewood Derby was
fast, fun and exciting! 54 scouts and 8 siblings ran cars this year. Jeremy N.
had the fastest car of the night with an average time in the finals of 2.91 seconds!
That's fast! Second place was won by Andrew F. with a time of 3.00 seconds
and third place was won by Benjamin P. at 3.01 seconds. Congratulations to all the
boys.

Rocky Point St. Patrick's Day Parade
Come march in this
years' St. Patrick's Day Parade on March 15th. Details to be announced.
Saturday, March 21st, 2009
- Blue and Gold Dinner - Baiting Hollow Scout Camp
March is our annual Blue and
Gold dinner. This year we'll be at Baiting Hollow Scout Camp. Come celebrate
the anniversary of scouting and enjoy the festivities and see all the boys receive their
awards earned this year.
Saturday, May 23rd, 2009
- Memorial Day Flag Placement at Calverton Cemetery
It was a beautiful day for flag
placement. We had about 8 boys come to the event. The boys did a fantastic job and
we're done pretty quick!!! We are proud of them for showing their respect to the
great men and women who have served this wonderful country.

Friday, May
29th, 2009 - May Pack Night
At our May Pack Night we had a "Stranger Danger" seminar from United Studios.
The boys all learned to be aware of strangers and what to do if approached by
someone they don't know.
Sunday, June 14th, 2009 - North Shore Beach
Clubhouse Flag Dedication
The Northshore Beach Club House had a flag dedication and several of
our scouts participated in the ceremony.
June 27th & 28th, 2009 - Cathedral Pines Camping
Trip
We held our annual family camping trip at Cathedral Pines and it was a lot of fun!
We had a bunch of families come out and enjoy beautiful weather, lots of fun and
games, and some great food all weekend.
July 11th, 2009 - Pack 244 Luau
Our annual Pack 244 Beach Party included fun in the sun with games, swimming,
games, food and contests.
August 21st - 23rd, 2009 - Hershey Park
Hershey's Boy Scout Wildlife Weekend was a fantastic trip enjoyed by many of our
pack families. The weather held out and weekend was a great success!
Although we had to deal with some showers upon arrival, we had a great night

Being a cub scout is tons of fun for boys
and their families! At Pack 244 everyone in the family is welcome at all our
events. We are family focused, have fun meetings and great events. For more

Training
Cub Scout
Fast Start Training - All new leaders should take Fast Start training as soon
as possible. This course is given periodically by our local Council but you can take it
online.
Youth
Protection Training - This site is provided to enable adult leaders to
undertake youth protection training online. This is mandatory training for all
leaders. Note: You can get to the online training by either going to the Suffolk
County Council website and looking under "Training" or follow this link then
select "Suffolk County Council" from the pull down menu.
