Webelos Woods Campout
September 28th - 29th, 2002
 


We all arrived Saturday morning after a rainy and blustery couple of days.  We expected the worst but the day was beautiful and the camp was pretty dried out.

We all marched to the Opening Ceremony. 


Everyone was eager to start the days' events.
 


Bobby and Chris learn how to make a fire starter using cardboard, string and parafin.


Alex and Bobby work on their fire starters.


Zac and Sean finish up on their fire starters.


Bobby and Zac learn the importance of teamwork.
 


The Boy Scouts teach the Webelos how to make an emergency stretcher.

All the boys get to try out the stretcher.
 


  Working together, the boys design and make a den flag.  The Jr. Webelos choose to be the Eagles and the Sr. Webelos were the Patriots.
 


Nick, Scott, Danny and William try to build a fire using the "lean to" method that they learned about from the boy scouts.


Zac, Alex and Chris try the "log cabin" design for their fire.

With one fire starter, the "log cabin" design works perfect and the beginnings of a great campfire starts.

 


Alex helps Eija prepare dinner for the whole group.


All the Webelos got a comprehensive Readyman presentation in an anbulance by a highly-qualified EMT.
